Frequently Asked Questions

What is Living History Forward?

Living History Forward is a professional cultural-management framework designed to unite institutions, educators, historians, tourism leaders, and community partners into a coordinated regional network. It is not a museum, site, or program — it is the strategic infrastructure that connects them all into a shared cultural ecosystem.

The Living History Network welcomes museums, historic houses, educational institutions, foundations, cultural organizations, researchers and scholars, civic and tourism agencies, community leaders, technology partners, and elected and government leaders. Anyone with a stake in cultural heritage can participate.

We help institutions move from isolated efforts to collective influences through collaborative frameworks. This includes shared programming, coordinated tourism pathways, digital innovation, joint research partnerships, and public programming strategies that amplify every partner’s reach and impact.

We design cultural tourism pathways that connect visitors to authentic heritage experiences across the region. By coordinating sites, creating curated trails, and developing interpretive programming, we increase visitor stays, strengthen local business activity, and attract educational travel groups.

Organizations can collaborate by joining the Living History Network. We provide the strategic framework, tools, and coordination that enable institutions to work together — from shared digital platforms and programming calendars to joint marketing and collaborative grant applications.
